Why do we keep old things at home?

We put great efforts to keep our home organized but we fail to see somethings

No amount of space is adequate to keep the things which we go on adding at home. We seldom discard, donate or sell them which we did not need in last one year or more. What drives this tendency is basically

  1. Emotional attachment with the old items.

  2. They do not qualify to be thrown in bin.

  3. A part of it or whole of it may be required in future.

  4. We forget their existence if not used for months or years

  5. Failure to estimate the salvage value of the items

  6. Hesitation to put a sale notice for such old items.

  7. Over estimating the intrinsic value of the items.

At the end of the day, space created by their effective disposal is invaluable. More the items, we hold longer, difficult it would be for housekeeping and eventually lead us to a simple dust bin disposal.
